Re: Pop-up problems, spyware alerts, please help

Hi,

Thank you for the logs.

I cannot find any conclusive information on this file. Do you have any idea which program may have created it:

C:\alrt_200.data

Please disable Windows Defender Real Time Protection as it may interfere with the fix. To disable Windows Defender:
  • Open Windows Defender
  • Click Tools
  • Click General Settings
  • Scroll down to Real Time Protection Options
  • Uncheck Turn on Real Time Protection (recommended)
  • After you uncheck this, click on the Save button
  • Close Windows Defender
Once your log is clean you can re-enable Windows Defender Real Time Protection.

Scan with HijackThis and put a checkmark against the following entries:

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://softwarereferral.com/jump.php...MjI6Ojg5&lid=2
O21 - SSODL: kopmet - {1F2533EA-9A10-4D8D-8331-C41770C92B25} - C:\WINDOWS\kopmet.dll (file missing)
O21 - SSODL: jetctrl - {E5423171-C668-4E6A-9A06-429C412A4EC3} - C:\WINDOWS\jetctrl.dll (file missing)
O24 - Desktop Component 0: Microsoft Corporation - http://www.microsoft.com/

Close all browsers/windows except HijackThis and click on "fix checked".

Restart your computer for the changes to take place.

==============================================

Go to Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs and remove if Kaspersky online scanner is present prior to downloading the most up-to-date one.

Now run this online scan using Internet Explorer:
Kaspersky Online Scanner from http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner

Next Click on Launch Kaspersky Online Scanner

You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.
  • The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
  • Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
  • Now click on Scan Settings
  • In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
  • Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
  • Standard
  • Scan Options:
  • Scan Archives
  • Scan Mail Bases
  • Click OK
  • Now under select a target to scan:
  • Select My Computer
  • This will program will start and scan your system.
  • The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
  • Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
  • Now click on the Save as Text button:
  • Save the file to your desktop in txt format.
Copy and paste that information from Kapersky in your next post along with a fresh HijackThis log.
