Hi kstater7 and welcome to TSF !

Try to uninstall quicktime and any codec pack you could have installed and install the K-lite codec pack (standard version shoud suffice, make sure you install ffdshow) and quicktime alternative instead. See if it helps.

See if using media player classic (included in K-lite) or vlc to play your media files shows the same behaviour.
