oh and ps, ive checked the registry and nothing is preventing control panel from showing up in there.
Have you looked in both HKLM and HKCU policies?

This is fairly typical of recent infections.

Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:

Quote:
if exist C:\peek*.txt del /q C:\peek*.txt
if exist C:\look.txt del /q C:\look.txt
regedit /a C:\peek1.txt "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies"
regedit /a C:\peek2.txt "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies"
regedit /a C:\peek3.txt "HKEY_USERS\.default\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\policies"
type C:\peek*.txt > C:\look.txt
start notepad C:\look.txt
Save this as peek.bat Choose to "Save type as - All Files"
It should look like this:
Double click on peek.bat & allow it to run. A notepad file will open. Copy that information into your next reply, please.
