Hmm, well your in luck because for the past 3 months ive had the same problem ive had two 7900GT's "die" on me. The cloured points on your sceen are corrupt coloured pixels. Do you see the coloured pixels on the POST screen (displays hardware when you first turn your pc on).
Nvidia have released a few faulty 7900GT cards i would check to see if you have your warranty and return the product to Nvidia and they will send a replacement card.
