Now about your AV.
Here's the process I would take.
Choose one of the AV options I'll provide. Download the installer.
Next, read the following page, and download the Norton Removal Tool which will be on that page.
Please use the instructions on
this page to completely uninstall your Norton Products.

Once you have the new AV installer file, and the Norton Removal Tool on the system, disconnect from the internet.
Uninstall Norton from Add/Remove programs.
Run the Norton Removal Tool according to the instructions. Reboot the machine.
Install your new AV from the file you already saved.
Reconnect to the internet, update the new AV's definitions, and run a full system scan.

Select one of these, or another of your choice. Do not install more than one antivirus program because they will conflict with each other. It is imperative that you update your antivirus software at least once a week (even more if you wish). If you do not update your antivirus software then it will not be able to catch new malware that may have come out.
