Well, after over an hour on the phone with tech support from Dell, (yeah I know, itsn't that supposed to be an oxymoron these days??)
I must say they helped me solve the issue. It seems the disk with windows on it was a weee bit corrupted, (hey,but aren't we all?? ;]}})
I used a newer one and she helped me download some drivers because the drivers cd had vanished. It solved everthing!!
I'm even typing on that machine right now.
I was hoping it was a quick think one you dear souls could tell me, and avoid the hour on the phone trying to understand what the dell person would say......(I hate saying, "excuse me, could you repeat that AGAIN slowly?", like a moron, because of an accent issue)
I really love this forum, everyone is so nice and willing to take those of us less talented in this arena through all the baby steps.
