Xbox 360 Connection Issues

Everytime I connect with people on Xbox Live, I always lag, sometimes so badly people don't want to play with me at all and even I don't want to play because it just gets so frustrating. I thought my connection might be the issue so I put my Hard Drive in my brother's 360 and played, and I had the best connection I've had for awhile now. I didn't lag at all. So, its obviously not my connection, router, or modem cause my brother's connection is on the very far end of the cables.

So, I went to Xbox.com to try an troubleshoot it, but they didn't have anything and last time I called customer support on this issue(before we upgraded our bandwidth, which then later got downgraded cause my dad sucks) they didn't help at all. I've ran multiple tests on it and everything says confirmed and wired. So, the only 2 ideas I have right now that could be the problem are, either the settings on my Xbox are set up wrong or theres something wrong with my Xbox's Ethernet port(believe that's what its called).

So, if you guys have any ideas I could try, please post them cause this problem is really aggravating. I also don't want to go returning my 360 unless I know its a problem with the 360 itself. I really need help with this ASAP because I only have 2 options left, which is to call Microsoft and if that doesn't work then I'll have to return my system. I don't want to do either of those till I rule everything else out.
