Re: Seemingly simple task of watching my computer on my TV
Thank you so much for entertaining my crisis!
I am connecting to an AVL tv through component 1 (RCA input). The TV specifics: AVL ALT3211AD 32" 16:9 ATSC HD/Multi-system LCD.
I ran through the set-up again as requested and also turned everything off again, checked connections, turned on the tv, then the computer... no picture. I checked the settings and they were intact.
I am doing all of this in Japan... could it be something silly like the refresh rate? The Vaio was purchased in the US in 2006 and the TV is US spec (I have a Sony DVD(region 1)/home theater/receiver hooked into the HDMI input and a regionless DVD player hooked into component 2 (for Japanese videos) as well as a satellite dish input via coax into the video slot).
The tv does have a VGA input on the back, but I travel a lot and really need the flexibility of the RCA leads from my VGA output.
Does any of this tip you off as to where I am messing up?
Thank you again!
