It depends on what settings you use in Cinema4D, the size of the image, number of lights/effects, render quality, what other programs are running in the background, etc. I would say an hour for a professional full-sized render is optimistic, but it's impossible to give an accurate figure with so many variables.

A friend of mine uses 3D Studio and a few other similar programs and his preview renders can take over an hour each, with the full-settings renders taking several hours.

The best thing to do is drop some of the more advanced render options and do a quick preview, then increase the settings until you find a suitable compromise between render time and image quality.
