Hello Andrew,
Thanks for your response. I refilled the toner cartridge (this cartridge:
https://www.redtagtoner.com/impro/images/items/TK17.jpg) and the toner has printed before, so I know it's the proper "toner box". I have to say I do not know if the toner refill was proper (I bought it second hand and the man assured me it was, but who knows...) What I DO notice is that, when I remove the cartridge, almost no toner spills out. Is this normal, or is this indicative of a problem? How does the printer get the toner out normally?
I believe that this toner cartridge is made for being refilled, as there is a rubber cap to the side, and some websites (for refilling, I'll admit) point to this and say "pour and go", so I do not think there's a toner counter or something.
In the meantime, I have ordered a new TK-17 from a website, so perhaps we can -when I receive the new one- decide whether it was bad refilling that got me into trouble... :)
Thanks for looking at my question anyhow!
(In the meantime, if anyone had the same issue and solved it by "doing this or that", I'm still open to suggestions, naturally!)
