I have to add a new computer to my network. I have a switch, dsl router.

I simply connect that all the wires from each machine,and the router to the switch and my networking is done.

All this was fine till when i got a new bit long (about 14 meters) wire. The wire always gives me "request time out"... But if i replace the new wire with a old one it works fine.

I have tried changing the rj45 connectors, and also that whole damm wire but the problem still exists.

I have also checked the color combination of the wires .. they are exactly same as the old ones!

someone please give me a hint where and what to look for
