Working on a Clients' CPu, replacing the HDD.

A new WD800JD. Specs on WD site claim 150 MB/s or 300 MB/s. There is no documentation in the .pdf file available at WD's site but the jumper settings indicate if #5&6 are jumpered this will activate 300 MB/s. Am I answering my own question? Is this correct that data transfer rates can be jumpered from factory (no jumpers) to jumpering pins 5&6 to allow 300 MB/s?
