Big trouble booting my hard drive

I have two identical laptops, and about 10 minutes ago my other one failer to boot, on the first screen i could hear a loud clicking coming from the hard drive, and after the first screen, the computer came up with a warning saying "Primary hard disk drive 0 not found
No bootable devices--strike f1 to retry bott, f2 for setup utility"
I have tryed my hard drive in the same computer and it works so i know the problem is on my other hard drive, i have taken it out and looked at it, but there doesnt seem to be anything noticably wrong with it, when i run it in safe mode a warning apperaing saying something roughly like this "windows could not start because hal.dll is either corrupted or removed, please reinstall it". What can i do? Please help.
