I think it could be the mainboard in it, I would reset the psp to its factory defaults

See if that works, if it doesnt try taking the battery out then try it with the power supply plugged in by either the USB or the Power Plug and see what its like just like. If that goes okay, then it could be the battery, or it could be the pins that connect the battery to the PSP, you should try cleaning it with compressed air or something like a hover to remove any dust that there is there.
