If you do not need any of the Norton Recycler/NPROTECT files, right click the Recycle bin, and select:
You can also go to Start > Run, and type in:
cmd
Copy/paste the following:
del \\?\c:\recycler\nprotect\*.*
[Make SURE that you don't need any of the files, because the command deletes all the files in the NPROPTECT folder]

Start the computer in
Safe Mode :
- When the machine first starts again, tap the F8 key repeatedly until you are presented with a Windows XP Advanced Options menu.
- Select the option for Safe Mode using the arrow keys.
- Press Enter to boot into Safe Mode.

See if you can remove any remaining folder while in Safe Mode.
