Thank Linderman and Manic in the first place for your kind hints.
(Flashing i did, because I thought after 3 years a newer Version would be better. One main reason is the long booting time (3-5 minutes) when tweaking the XP (bootvis, msconfig) did not help any further)

Meanwhile I tried AFUDOS226 ( the latest offered) and P4CED23.ROM which now was a big progress. The Screen messages ware complete different and more illustrative and the result too. Most of boots now go OK, all values unchanged except disabled RAID, which I do not use.
But one boot now again showed the "Overclocking failure" message and wanted me to either Setup or load defaults. I choose the second and after that some more boots went OK.
I think I should watch the sit. for some days and then tell you again. ( What means "holler" - excuse me as a german not knowing the word.) Again thank you very much !!!
