As a novice I would like to find experience stories with this problem:
i flashed the BIOS with the 4 latest versions by EZ Flash feature:
P4CED23,, P4CED22, P4CED21 and Beta 1024-001 from the ASUS site. the messages were unisono ending with ..“flashing successfully, rebooting“. But it did not reboot. Black Screen before any POST messages. Switch off and on resulted in LOGO display and proposing to use TAB. Then some POST lines follow and about line 20 it says „Checksum error“, „Overclocking failed !“ and offers F1 for Setup or F2 for Default Settings and continue - I choose F2. Then booting continues OK, but no LAN connection possible.
So I choose FI and checked BIOS, all default values are set, but rebooting does not work.
Then same story als above: F2 .... overclocking failed etc. although I never overclocked.
apparently the BIOS does not flash, because the version shown is always 08.00.09 - 03/16/05 - P4CED106 ( not 800 ?)
Any suggestions are very much appreciated.
